Gehl’s new 5240E and redesigned 4640E
Gehl has an all-new 5240E and a new, more compact chassis on the model 4640E. While the 5240E boasts lift heights up to 122 inches (with optional 12.00 tires), the 4640E excels on small, cramped job sites with its new, compact chassis. Both models feature a 62-hp Tier III turbo-diesel engine and smooth operating hydraulics.

High lift heights on the new 5240E Skid Loader enhance productivity on the job site. This new model can lift up to an impressive 120 inches with the standard 10.00 tires, and 122 inches with the optional 12.00 tires.

The redesigned 4640E and the new 5240E have overall machine widths of only 59.7 inches (without bucket) utilizing the new offset-tire option. They are powered by a four-cylinder, 62-hp, Tier III-certified, Deutz TD2009 Series turbo-diesel engine. A new high-capacity combination radiator and oil cooler provides for optimum cooling. The new 5240E and the improved 4640E Skid Loaders feature smooth hydraulics with auxiliary hydraulic flow up to 30 gpm (114 L/min) (with highflow option). A new high-flow option with “soft-start” and detent features is controlled by an easy-to-access on/off switch on the instrument panel. As with other Gehl Skid Loaders, these new loaders feature the Hydraloc Automatic Interlock System, which increases operator safety by locking lift, tilt and drive systems when the operator leaves the seat, raises the restraint bar, or turns off the ignition switch.
