The Speed Awareness Monitor II (SAM II) speed awareness display system includes a fixed speed limit sign and a large LED lamp matrix display that indicates a motorist’s speed with changeable 18-inch characters legible from 1,000 feet. The SAM II features a dedicated hand-held controller that provides programming and diagnostic functions. A 4D deep-cycle battery provides over 18 days of continuous operation. It also has an optional top-mounted solar panel that can recharge a day’s worth of battery use in 2.5 hours of sunlight. Featuring graffiti- and rust-resistant paint, the SAM II display system comes with a heavy-duty steel trailer that has four leveling jacks for placement and stability.
