Western Star Truck Sales, Inc., will host its fifth annual “Western Star Trucks Get Tough Challenge” at the 2015 World of Concrete in Las Vegas (Feb. 3-5, 2015). The ride-and-drive event, which takes place in the Gold Lot at the Las Vegas Convention Center, allows drivers to test out different Western Star truck models.
“Western Star Trucks Get Tough Challenge enables drivers to experience first-hand the Western Star difference,” said Ann Demitruk, director of marketing for Western Star. “Our construction trucks are built to the exacting specifications of our customers, ensuring that they meet the challenge for tough jobs, every time.”
In addition to the Serious Trucks Challenge, Western Star will display its 4700SF Axle Bridge Formula mixer at the Gold Lot. The mixer is equipped with the Detroit DD13 engine and Allison 4700 Rugged Duty Series (RDS) transmission, which offers a second deep reverse gear in addition to the standard reverse, providing greater control and engine braking during operation on steep grades. It also features Electronic Stability Control (ESC), offering protection against rollover, skidding, spinning and jackknifing.
Western Star will feature several of its vocational trucks and product options in the Gold Lot, including:
- A 4700SB mixer equipped with a Detroit DD13 engine and Allison 4500 Rugged Duty Series (RDS) transmission with PTO
- A 4700SB crane truck equipped with a Detroit DD13 engine and Eaton Fuller transmission
- A 4800SB tandem steer crane truck with a Detroit DD13 engine and Allison 4000 RDS transmission
- A 4900XD with a Detroit DD15 engine and Allison 4500 RDS transmission with PTO
Western Star’s newest model, the all-new 5700XE extreme efficiency on-highway truck equipped with a Detroit DD13 engine will also be on display at the booth.
To register for the “Western Star Trucks Get Tough Challenge” participants must have a current CDL, and can register in the Gold Lot. The event hours are 9:30 am to 4:30 pm on Tuesday, Feb. 3 through Thursday, Feb. 5, 2015.
