Putzmeister America, Inc. (Putzmeister) has announced the redesign of its Pro Series Concrete Transit Mixers for reduced weight, increased ease-of-maintenance, and increased parts commonality.
One of the most significant changes to the mixers is the redesign of the two pedestals that hold the drum. The front and rear pedestals are now more similar to each other and lighter in weight, with less parts and wider access holes. Not only does the new design of the pedestals make servicing the hydraulic pump easier, but it also allows for increased parts commonality.
Another major improvement to the mixers is the steeper angle of the drums, which provides an increased capacity while still allowing for quick load / unload capabilities. Additionally the new mixer features interchangeable wear parts, which allow for commonality of Putzmeister mixer parts among other manufacturers’ parts.
“We’ve put many hours into reengineering the Pro Mixer line to help make it even more user-friendly and easier to maintain,” said Tom McKernan, sales and service director for Putzmeister’s Concrete Transit Mixer Division.
