John Deere enhances 670G LC excavator with customer-driven features and emissions updates
The John Deere 670G LC excavator is the latest model from the company to be updated to meet customer needs and emissions standards. The 463-hp production-class model is now equipped with a Tier 4 Final engine to meet the strictest emission standards, and it boasts customer-inspired updates to enhance productivity, maintenance and safety.
“The 670G LC is an efficient, reliable and durable member of the G-Series lineup that contractors rely on day in and day out for mass earthmoving,” said Mark Wall, excavator product marketing manager, John Deere Construction & Forestry. “These machine updates, along with the Final Tier 4 implementation, will provide contractors with the excavator they need for big highway jobs, underground, deeper water and sewer projects.”
A hallmark of all G-Series excavators, the production-class model is easy to service. Maintenance is simplified with such features as a battery disconnect switch, spin-on fuel filters and two additional water separators to maintain long fuel filter life. Engine and hydraulic oil sample ports allow for quick and convenient, proactive maintenance checks, which keep operators running longer. In addition, an improved step position on the track frame and handrails on the upper structure provide multiple points of contact when accessing the engine compartment.
Behind the controls and in the comfort of a sculpted, heated air-suspension seat, operators have access to a refined monitor that employs a turn-and-tap rotary control for quick access to an abundance of performance and convenience features and functions. Operators will also appreciate the quiet and spacious cab, unsurpassed all-around visibility and numerous other amenities that provide everything operators need to do their best work.
The 670G LC excavator includes smart features, such as a Powerwise III engine/hydraulic-management system with multiple productivity modes, enabling operators to balance engine performance and hydraulic flow for predictable operation. High productivity delivers more power and faster hydraulic response to move more material. Power provides smooth and balanced metering for normal operation. Economy reduces top speed and helps save fuel.
The excavator also boasts an expansion tank in the cooling system that enhances air pursing, provides make-up fluid when needed and improves overall cooling efficiency, helping the engine operate at peak performance.
