ShearForce Equipment hosts Demo Day
B.C. contractors get a first-hand look at the latest in crushing and demolition technology
Hydraulic excavator attachment and mobile crushing equipment specialists ShearForce Equipment hosted their first ever Demo Day on Friday, October 21 in Abbotsford, B.C. Guests were invited to see first-hand and test out the latest in crushing and demolition equipment technologies. The RUBBLE MASTER RM90 GO! mobile impact crusher was prominently featured on-site, producing ¾-inch minus material from recycled concrete while being operated using a wireless remote control from the cab of the loading excavator. Add-on accessories including a refeed system for oversized pieces, mesh screening deck, and magnetic rebar separator were fully utilized as well to show the capabilities of the fuel-efficient compact recycling machine.
ShearForce’s new rotating demolition pulverizers were put to work crushing larger concrete blocks into smaller pieces for the RUBBLE MASTER to produce recycled material to spec. The all new excavator attachments boast faster cycle times, field replaceable bolt-on teeth, and up to 20 percent more crushing power than competitive models, according to the manufacturers.
The brand-new ShearForce demolition grab was debuted at the Demo Day, fitted on the host’s CAT 308E2 rental mini excavator. Guests were impressed with the agility and speed of the demo grab, capably maneuvering and sorting through the piles of mixed recycled materials.
Attendees also got a closer look at the innovative new Xcentric Crusher Bucket, getting a chance to crush not only concrete, but also pound through a pile of B.C. river rock, a more realistic and challenging application for some of the forestry roadbuilding and clearing contractors in attendance. The high-performance crusher buckets utilize patent-pending technology that applies a high-inertia powertrain, circular jaw movement for effective crushing of wet material, and a new and easy anti-stagnation plate, which prevents large pieces from getting stuck in the bucket's mouth, not allowing them to enter the crushing jaws.
And although it was already a soggy afternoon, the ShearForce team also fired up their new Motofog dust suppression systems. Ideal for demolition and excavation sites, Motofog units can spray up to 35 metres (115 feet) with a range between 363 and 1,160 psi, effectively calming dust, debris, and even odours on jobsites.
