Updating the legacy Genie S-105 and S-125 telescopic boom lifts, the new Genie SX-105 XC and SX-125 XC booms are engineered to work in more applications that require higher capacities. With industry-leading dual lift capacity — 660-lb (300 kg)/1,000-lb (454 kg) — and a smooth operating envelope, these new XC boom lifts are a perfect fit for heavy lifting in the construction and maintenance of stadium and sports arenas, gas and oil refineries, industrial and telecommunications applications.
“Priced right, the new Genie SX-105 XC and SX-125 XC booms will be competitive in local markets while increasing customers’ ability to get more work done on every project,” says Adam Hailey, Genie Director of Product Marketing, Terex AWP. “We packed them with performance-enhancing features, including 80-ft (24.38 m) of outreach, the ability to work 8 ft 10 in (2.69 m) below grade and a stable 12 ft 11 in (3.94 m) x 13 ft 6 in (4.11 m) operating footprint. We also kept our focus on operators’ needs by updating the machines’ user interface and designing simple, easy-to-use booms. These models are engineered to deliver a higher rental return on invested capital (rROIC) for our customers’ businesses.
“The XC nomenclature also lets customers know that these new booms comply with the overload restriction guidelines in the proposed ANSI A92 and CSA B354 industry standards in North America, as well as the current European EN280 and Australian AS 1418.10 standards,” adds Hailey.
The new Genie SX-105 XC and SX-125 XC booms say good-bye to the saw tooth working envelope of their predecessors. The operator’s experience is enhanced by these booms’ ability to automatically retract as they reach their operating envelope, giving the new SX-105 XC and SX-125 XC models a smooth, full range of motion throughout the machines’ entire working envelope — up to 105 ft (32 m) and 125 ft 1 in (38.12 m) in the air, respectively, with 135° of vertical jib rotation.
Both booms are equipped with an emissions-compliant powerful 74-hp (55 kW) Tier 4F/Stage IIIB diesel engine and a redesigned heavy-duty generator. These features deliver consistent, reliable power to the machines’ drive and platform functions.
Boasting the same set-up as the recently introduced Genie SX-135 XC boom, the mini XChassis axle system on the Genie SX-105 XC and SX-125 XC booms provide excellent maneuverability on, off and around confined jobsites without distributing people or traffic. Extending and retracting the axles to and from the stowed position with a more compact footprint — 8 ft 2 in (2.49 m) retracted or 12 ft 11 in (3.94 m) extended — the Genie mini XChassis provides stability on the job and a narrow profile for transport. And, the easy-to-access axle design translates to low-effort maintenance.
