VMAC has released a 6-in-1 Multifunction Power System with Cat Power, now available to Cat dealers and other customers across North America. The latest VMAC 6-in-1 Multifunction was on display at CONEXPO-CON/AGG for demonstration.
The Multifunction with Cat Power system includes a 45 CFM rotary screw air compressor, 250 A welder, 8 kW continuous AC generator, PTO with optional hydraulic pump, electrical power, and battery booster/charger in one straightforward, lightweight machine. Operators can enjoy 6 versatile forms of power in a single machine.
The Cat Power variation of VMAC's Multifunction was engineered for Caterpillar mechanics after VMAC received a request from Finning, the world's largest Caterpillar equipment dealer. Finning wanted a variation of VMAC's existing Multifunction that used a Cat industrial diesel engine.
"Finning approached our team to help them accomplish their sustainability goals and asked us to create a variation of our Multifunction Power System that used a Caterpillar engine," said Gord Duval, VP of Marketing & Sales at VMAC. "We have worked with Finning for more than 20 years and are always happy to collaborate on innovative new products."
Like every VMAC 6-in-1 Multifunction system, the Cat Power model allows operators to turn their truck off at the job site to reduce fuel and vehicle maintenance costs. The Multifunction System will then automatically idle the Cat engine up and down, as well as on and off, to meet air demand.
This latest VMAC Multifunction has a C1.1 industrial diesel engine, which utilizes lower engine speeds, reduces noise, and has simple single-side servicing. The C1.1 also has an impressive service interval of 500 hours, which is a great improvement over the 100 to 200 hour service intervals typically required by small industrial engines.
"By combining Cat Power with VMAC engineering, we've developed a Multifunction system that's powerful, easy to use, and easy to maintain," said Mike Pettigrew, VMAC's Marketing Manager. "If you love Cat products, you will love the VMAC Multifunction Power System with a Cat engine."
