Komatsu showcases integrated solution for quarry operations at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2020
The new ZT44 track drill enhances productivity in challenging geology
Quarries can maximize productivity and uptime with a single-source supply and integrated system. Komatsu showcased its entire portfolio — including solutions for the quarry and aggregate markets — at its booth at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2020.
The Komatsu ZT44 track drill, which made its debut at the show, enhances productivity in challenging geology. The versatile track drill has the flexibility needed to drill in a variety of settings, from small patterns and uneven ground conditions, as well as multiple angles and even de-watering, if required.
Also featured were smart material handling solutions designed to each quarry's application to achieve optimum machine performance through an integrated system. A scale-model high-angle conveyor, which currently boasts more than 160 installations globally, was also displayed at the booth. Configurations are custom designed to each application, but since many of the components are interchangeable, replacement parts can still be obtained quickly, and the system can be re-set and reused as the job site changes over time.
Another solution for cost-effective conveying, Joy Idlers, was also on display. The patented shaft is designed to work with tapered bearings to optimize their load-bearing capacity. Extended idler spacing is an option for some applications. Fewer idlers means lower costs and maintenance without sacrificing load capacity.
The newest offering for the quarry market is the Stamler RF-5 reclaim feeder. The RF-5 cost-effectively feeds, blends, and reclaims materials with the versatility to cover multiple applications. This versatility offers quarry customers a more flexible solution than some of the traditional blending products currently in use.
