Sarens purchases three all-terrain cranes to strengthen Canadian wind energy sector presence

Sarens has increased its availability of cranes and heavy transport vehicles with the acquisition of three new Manitowoc Grove GMK5150L all-terrain cranes to strengthen the company's presence in the wind energy sector in Canada. Specifically, these three units will be used for the construction of various wind farms in Alberta, which will begin in the second half of this year.

The new cranes have a lifting capacity of 175 US tons each. Thanks to a 197-foot main boom, these cranes offer up to 15 U.S. tons of additional lifting capacity, making them ideal for wind farm construction.

The acquisition of these new models is part of Sarens' significant commitment to the Canadian market. After more than 10 years of presence in the country, Sarens recently announced an investment of CAD5.5 million for the acquisition of new equipment to reinforce its leadership position in its crane rental, heavy lifting, and engineered transport services, with the development of wind energy projects as one of its key growth markets.

Sarens carries extensive experience in the development of wind energy projects in Canada. These include work on facilities such as Whitla, Western Lily, Golden South, Nation Rise, Castle Rock-Riverview, and most recently, the Blue Hill Project (Saskatchewan), where Sarens contributed to the erection of 50 wind turbines.
