Weekly recap: Volvo CE’s electric compact equipment financing, Bobcat’s autonomous mower, and more
Autonomous machines are progressively being developed to increase productivity and safety, no matter how big, or small, the job site is. Bobcat recently collaborated with Greenzie to develop an autonomous lawn mower. John Deere has expanded its performance tiering strategy with three new P-tier large excavators. Tadano launched a new all-terrain crane capable of transporting its maximum counterweight of 11.9 tonnes by itself while staying within an axle load limit of 12 tonnes. Plus, Volvo CE has bundled charging, repairs, and more into an electric compact equipment financing option, and United Rentals will add zero-emission hydrogen-powered generators to its North American rental fleet. Here are five articles from this week you won't want to miss.
John Deere expands large excavator performance tiering options with three new models
John Deere has added three new P-tier excavator models to its line of large-size equipment. These machines are the latest excavator models to launch as part of John Deere's performance tiering strategy. The 470 P-tier, 670 P-tier, and 870 P-tier models offer increased visibility features, making them an ideal solution for operators looking to increase productivity on the job. In addition, the 470 P-tier comes equipped with grade management solutions engineered to minimize rework.

Bobcat collaborates with Greenzie to develop new autonomous mower
Bobcat Company has collaborated with Greenzie to develop a new autonomous mowing system. Greenzie is an autonomous software company for commercial lawn mowers and outdoor power equipment. The Bobcat autonomous mower has a ride-and-repeat feature, where operators can plot a course and mark areas for the mower to avoid during autonomous operations. Able to detect objects, known or unknown, the zero-turn mower travels its prescribed path while the operator can take on other tasks.

Tadano all-terrain crane can transport 11.9-tonne counterweight within its axle load limit
Tadano's new AC 4.070-2 all-terrain crane can transport its maximum counterweight of 11.9 tonnes by itself while staying within an axle load limit of 12 tonnes. Plus, it can still manage 4.4 tonnes when the axle load is reduced to 10 tonnes instead. The Tadano AC 4.070-2 is an assist crane ideal for erecting large lattice boom crawler cranes, as well as operating on residential and functional building construction projects. Moreover, the crane's compact design helps to boost these advantages even further: The crane has a total length of 11.7 metres (36 ft), a width of 2.55 metres (6.5 ft), and a travelling height of 3.8 metres (9.8 ft).

Volvo CE bundles charging, repairs, and more into one lease for electric compact equipment
Volvo Construction Equipment has launched a new financing option for the company's electric compact equipment. The leasing package bundles charging, maintenance, repairs, and more. Combined, the package costs less than purchasing the items separately. Available in the U.S. and Canada through Volvo Financial Services (VFS), the process to set up a lease for electric machines is the same as with other Volvo CE machines. Contractors will work with their local Volvo CE dealer and VFS to set the length of the contract, determine how many hours each machine could operate, and negotiate monthly payments.

United Rentals to add zero-emission hydrogen power generators to North American rental fleet
United Rentals, Inc. will add several hydrogen-powered generators to its North American rental fleet. With the generators, United Rentals will have a zero-emissions power solution available to rent. The generator can charge electric vehicles, tools, and other equipment. The EODev GEH2 fuel cell electro-hydrogen generators operate without emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2), hydrocarbons (HC), nitrogen oxides (NOx), or other particulate matter (PM). United Rentals expects to deploy the generators during the fourth quarter of 2022 and in 2023.
