Bobcat's all-new TL519 telehandler is the most compact telehandler in the company's current lineup. The machine is just six feet wide which enables it to move around and operate on compact job sites faster and easier.
The TL519 is ideal for the construction, agriculture, and rental industries. It features a 74-hp engine, a 2-speed hydrostatic transmission, and a standard Power Bob-Tach mounting system so operators can easily swap attachments without leaving the cab.
Drew Kolo, marketing manager at Bobcat, says that the TL519 has the reach, maneuverability, and power to handle heavy jobs on small job sites. The machine can utilize a wide range of attachments to make it ideal for a lot of different applications.
The Tier 4, turbo-charged engine present in the TL519 meets emission compliances without the use of a diesel particulate filter (DPF) or selective catalyst reduction (SCR). Cold weather starting enables reliable performance in harsh winters.
The TL519 can lift a maximum of 5,500 pounds and has a lift height of more than 19 feet. Four steering modes and five operation modes help the operator adapt to the needs and terrain of each job site.
The five operation modes of the TL519 are:
- ECO mode allows the operator to maintain hydraulic performance without using the engine's full power – working with lower rpm, less noise, and lower fuel consumption.
- Smooth Drive mode is ideal for maneuvering across job sites with mild acceleration and deceleration while carrying loads.
- Dynamic Drive mode increases the responsiveness of the telehandler's acceleration and deceleration for travelling between tasks.
- Flex Drive mode allows the operator to manage the engine speed independently from travel speed.
- Advanced Attachment Control mode allows for full auxiliary hydraulic performance.
Comfort and operability of the Bobcat TL519 telehandler
The TL519 was designed to incorporate Bobcat's R-Series styling and visibility. The cab uses an operator-centred design with ideal visibility and ergonomics, a comfortable suspension seat, an efficient HVAC system, and an instrumentation panel that Bobcat equipment operators will find familiar across R-Series machines. Bobcat telehandler cabs are tested to meet Roll-Over Protection Structure (ROPS) and Falling Object Protective Structure (FOPS) level II standards.
A joystick controls the travel direction, lift and tilt functions, boom extension, and auxiliary hydraulics. This gives the operator fine adjustment for lifting loads with care. It also allows operators to control several machine functions at the same time and from one control point, enabling more precise control and more productive operation without having to remove their hand from the joystick.
Fingertip control access makes operation smooth, comfortable, and easy. On the front side of the joystick, the directional switch for forward, neutral, and reverse can be operated with the index finger. The 2-speed travel switch, lift-arm float, boom extension, machine function settings, and auxiliary hydraulics are located on the rear of the joystick.
The low-profile boom sits below the operator's eye level to provide an open view of the surroundings. Front, top, and rear window wipers help keep windows free of debris and precipitation. Mirrors on the operator's left and right provide added visibility when working in confined areas. An optional rear mirror kit, rearview camera kit, and boom work light kit also are available.
Uptime, serviceability, and versatility
The TL519 is built with a box-welded frame for ideal rigidity and a low centre of gravity for increased stability. The shielded bottom plate protects vital components, and the engine, cooling system and critical components are well-protected within the centre of the chassis, ensuring minimal wear and tear due to job site obstacles or harsh terrain.
The engine compartment is accessible which puts routine maintenance checks, filters, and other engine components in easy reach, as well as the oil filter and other service points.
Thanks to the Bob-Tach mounting system, operators can share attachments with other Bobcat machines. From pallet forks and buckets to grapples and snow pushers, operators can tackle a variety of tasks without the need for specialty attachments.
The TL519 will be available in North America starting in Q2 2023.
