The new KX030-4 from Kubota is the latest in the company's KX Series of compact excavators. Replacing the KX71-3S in the 2- to 3-ton segment, the new machine offer greater breakout and lifting force, but has been lightened to make trailering and transport between job sites easier.
Powered by Kubota's dependable direct-injection diesel engine, engineered to maximize digging and lifting performance while reducing noise, vibration and fuel consumption, the KX030-4 offers 24.7 horsepower, a working range that includes a digging depth of 9 feet, 7 inches, and a bucket breakout force of 6,924 pounds.
An auto-downshift feature allows the operator to travel in 2nd speed and make turns without having to manually downshift, all while traversing a job site for better travel and increased productivity. A hydraulic diverter valve is located on the dipper arm and comes standard on the KX030-4, allowing operators to easily switch between attachments with the turn of a wrench. The standard third-line hydraulic return system allows oil to return directly back to the tank without flowing through the control valves, resulting in less back-pressure, less heat, and greater efficiency. The work light is positioned under the boom for better protection and increased visibility.
The interior keeps the operator in mind; it has a larger entrance, more cabin and foot space than the previous model. A large, easy to read digital operator instrument panel is positioned in the lower right corner of the operator's line of sight, allowing monitoring of working conditions, engine RPM, temperature, and oil levels. The KX030-4's front window opens easily, and the deluxe suspension seat and cup holder optimize operator comfort.
The KX030-4 will be available in March of 2023.
