Komatsu introduced its 20-ton PC210LCE electric excavator to North America at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2023.

The PC210LCE was first displayed at bauma 2022. Komatsu created the excavator for construction businesses that need a high-performance machine while cutting fuel costs. It features lithium-ion battery technology developed by Proterra, has 451 kWh of battery capacity, and will operate for up to eight hours on a single charge.

Electric machines are great for urban construction sites and indoor environments because they have zero exhaust emissions and operate with zero engine vibrations. According to Komatsu, the PC210LCE is no different. As a benefit, less noise and reduced emissions and vibrations help to combat operator fatigue. This quiet machine can operate at night on construction job sites.

At the show, the PC210LCE was displayed with Smart Construction Retrofit, an affordable guidance kit that gives operators in the field and managers in the office access to both 2D and 3D design and payload data to help drive accuracy, control load volumes, and improve operations. The technology can be installed by a Komatsu distributor and is designed to improve grading performance.

The PC210LCE is coming soon to North America.
