The 2024 Toyota Tundra offers a vast range of customizations for drivers to consider, with power and performance combined with efficiency and comfort depending on the needs of the user.
Headlined by i-FORCE MAX hybrid models that are highly efficient while cranking out the power, the Tundra lineup has expanded with the addition of Toyota's Nightshade styling, among others.
"Whether it's the jobsite of the campsite, the Toyota Tundra gets Canadians where they need to be in style and comfort," said Cyril Dimitris, Vice President, Toyota Canada Inc. "Tundra is the intelligent pickup truck - blending the strength and capability to take on almost any challenge with technology and refinement that encourage innovative thinking. For 2024, we're pleased to offer Canadians a huge lineup of models - including a Limited Nightshade grade and the luxurious Capstone - to ensure there's a Tundra for every taste and budget."
The Tundra has been crafted to be capable and offer a comfortable ride. A modern body-on-frame chassis design features a fully boxed ladder frame designed for strength, rigidity, and superior handling. On Limited grades and above, the cabin is mounted to the frame with hydraulic cab mounts for even greater ride comfort. All Tundra pickup truck beds are formed from a high-strength sheet-molded compound that offers added protection against dents, dings, and rust.
Three powertrain configurations include powerful hybrid
Toyota Canada offers the 2024 Tundra in three powertrain configurations, including the i-FORCE MAX hybrid. This pairs a 3.5L twin-turbo intercooled V6 with a motor/generator and clutch located within the bell housing. The result is the most powerful Tundra Toyota has ever built - delivering a combined performance output of 437 peak horsepower and a staggering 583 lb.-ft. of torque. What's more, the i-FORCE MAX powertrain delivers 500 lb.-ft. of torque available from a standing start. This is mated to a 10-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission with intelligence, featuring sequential shift mode, uphill/downhill shift logic, and two TOW/HAUL driving modes. This combination delivers an impressive fuel efficiency rating of just 11.7L/100km city/highway combined - and with a large 122L fuel tank, a long range. Equipped with a heavy-duty tow hitch receiver and complete tow package, the Tundra i-FORCE MAX is rated to pull up to 5,067 kg.
4x2 models feature an iFORCE 3.5-litre twin turbo intercooled V6 with start and stop engine system that delivers 348 peak horsepower and up to 405 lb.-ft. of torque. This is mated to a 10-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission with intelligence, featuring sequential shift mode, uphill/downhill shift logic, and two TOW/HAUL driving modes. Equipped with a heavy-duty tow hitch receiver and complete tow package, the 4x2 Tundra is rated to pull up to 3,760 kg.
The 4x4 features an i-FORCE 3.5L twin-turbo intercooled V6 with start and stop engine system. In SR grades, this delivers 348 peak horsepower and up to 405 lb.-ft. of torque while all other grades are re-tuned to generate 389 peak horsepower and up to 479 lb.-ft. of torque. This engine is mated to a 10-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission with intelligence, featuring sequential shift mode, uphill/downhill shift logic, two TOW/HAUL driving modes, and on-demand four-wheel-drive to maximize go-anywhere capability while maximizing efficiency. Equipped with a heavy-duty tow hitch receiver and complete tow package, the 4x4 Tundra is rated to pull up to 5,440 kg.
Cab configurations offer comfortable seating
Toyota offers the Tundra in choice of Double Cab or CrewMax body configurations. Inside, these cabs provide comfortable seating for up to five adults, with the CrewMax delivering even greater space in the back row. The dashboard features a horizontal layout theme with an instrument panel and centre stack that flow seamlessly into the overall interior layout. Premium materials reflect Tundra's heritage as a truck for both work and pleasure, while the overall design balances angular lines with muscular refinement.
Every 2024 Tundra is factory-fitted with the Toyota Multimedia system. This system, which integrates wirelessly with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, features Toyota's newest interface, which improves interaction between people and vehicle through sight, touch, and voice. Many functions may be controlled via the touch screen via the same gestures used on mobile phone screens. Other technology features include USB-A and USB-C input and charging port, Bluetooth connectivity, Sirius XM Satellite Radio capability, and the Toyota Smart Key System with Push Button Start.
Every Tundra also comes with a package of active and passive safety features - headlined by Toyota Safety Sense 2.5, a suite of active safety technologies and capabilities that enhance driver awareness, decision-making, and control. Other standard safety features include the Toyota Star Safety System, a backup camera with a back guide monitor, eight airbags, a tire pressure monitor system with auto location, and an anti-theft alarm system.
