Metso has teased its new range of Lokotrack crushers and screens. The new Lokotrack crushers and screens are a track-mounted, diesel-electric range that Metso is calling the EC range. It is designed and built on a new platform that Metso has been developing since 2020.

The Lokotrack EC units feature a diesel-electric powerline. All process functions are electrically driven and controlled by automation to always perform at the ideal load level. The new Lokotrack will have a distinctive design and will feature digital tools that help make operating and maintaining the units easier than before.

"This new hybrid equipment with higher efficiency and lower emissions will also significantly contribute to Metso's Planet Positive offering and the company's commitment to reach its ambitious climate targets. The new range, along with its related parts and services, has been designed to address the evolving needs of the industry," says Jarmo Vuorenpää, director of the new Lokotrack offering at Metso.

These new machines will be launched in the spring of 2024 at a launch event called Lokolaunch. The event will take place at the Nokia Arena in Tampere, Finland, from May 14 to 16, 2024. Metso will also present its crushing technology, utilization of digital tools, and parts and services at the launch event.

"Lokolaunch 2024 is more than just an event for customers and other key stakeholders. It signifies a demonstration of our commitment to pushing the boundaries of innovation and sustainability for the aggregates industry. We are excited to gather the industry's key players to celebrate this great milestone with us," says Renaud Lapointe, senior vice president of Metso products business line in the aggregates business area.
