John Deere expands G-Tier machines with durable and reliable mid-size wheel loader
John Deere has added another G-Tier machine to its Performance Tiering strategy: the mid-size 444 G-Tier wheel loader. Designed for reliable operation and durability along with cost-effectiveness, the 444 joins the larger 544 and 644 wheel loaders as G-Tier machines.
The 444 G-Tier serves contractors who need simpler, reliable, and economically priced wheel loaders in their lineup.
"Our customers are always seeking the perfect solutions to meet their needs, and the introduction of the 444 G-Tier was a direct response to the demand for reliable and more economical options within our lineup of wheel loaders," said Drew Miller, global product manager, wheel loaders for John Deere. "This model not only comes in at an attractive price point, but it was also designed to perform and deliver the same durability and power customers expect from a John Deere machine.
The 444 G-Tier wheel loader is a 124-horsepower machine with an operating weight of 24,887 to 26,325 pounds and a bucket capacity of 2.5 to 2.75 cubic yards. It offers similar productivity to other machines in its class, including the 444 P-Tier wheel loader, and can be upgraded thanks to optional equipment such as high-lift that expands its reach.
An optional debris package comes with a centrifugal air precleaner and auto reversing fan that help reduce downtime by keeping the machine and operator on the job without pausing to remove debris. The stacked cooling package with a hinged door for cleanout can be set to automatically reverse at regular intervals to simplify maintenance. Protective transmission and bottom guards are designed to fend off debris and ensure longevity.
Operators have ground-level access for refills of fluids, fuel, and DEF. Transmission and hydraulic sight gauges are easy to see. Dedicated right-side access to the machine's engine, aftertreament systems, and cooling system add to the user-friendliness of the design.
The cab has been ergonomically designed with adjustable controls, added floor storage space, and a joystick with integrated forward, neutral, and reverse controls. Optional air-ride suspension seat and ride control features add even more to operator comfort. In-cab adjustable boom settings streamline operations, especially when performing repetitive tasks.
Attachment options from snow blades to grapples ensure adaptability across different tasks and applications.
