SMS Equipment and Komatsu have made multiple agreements granting SMS Equipment exclusive dealer rights for TimberPro equipment in Western and Northern Canada. The Komatsu-owned line will bolster SMS Equipment's offering of equipment, attachments, parts, and services for Canada's forestry sector.
"We're delighted to welcome TimberPro to our lineup," says Darren Wood, EVP of construction of the west regions at SMS Equipment. "We're not only growing our forestry fleet, we're also diversifying our product line to offer more customized solutions to our customers."
The modularity of TimberPro feller bunchers, harvesters, and forwarders makes the line ideal for forestry operators. Combined with Quadco attachments, also available through SMS Equipment, one machine model can be used for many applications. In some cases, multiple functions can be performed at one time on the same machine. Advanced levelling capabilities, tethering hitches, and continuous rotation provide additional operator safety, especially in steep-slope operations.
"These are highly productive, multi-functional machines that can add efficiency to our customers' operations, from harvest to market," adds Wood. "This line is particularly suited to Western Canada's steep-slope operations, bolstering our service to customers working in varied terrain."
In addition to SMS Equipment gaining dealer exclusivity, existing TimberPro users in B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Western Ontario, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, and Yukon will transition to SMS Equipment for ongoing equipment needs, after-sales support, maintenance services, and parts.
