Caterpillar has added new enhanced design features to its PM300 cold planer series to improve performance, operating comfort, and milling power. The series, which includes the PM310, PM312, and PM313 cold planers, fits well for small to medium uses thanks to its compact, maneuverable, and high-production capabilities.

The Cat C9.3B engine integrated into the new models increases gross power and improves torque, based on standard performance ratings. The C9.3B is available in configurations that meet U.S. EPA Tier 4 Final and EU Stage V configurations, as well as others It features lower complexity and improved electronic, fuel, and air systems. Easier access to engine oil filters simplifies maintenance, while multipiece, cartridge-style engine filters reduce waste and lower replacement costs.

Transition flashing between the primary and loading conveyors has been redesigned to improve containment of material and reduce build-up on the front machine frame. Enhancements to the right-hand side plate further contain material, as do chamber-to-conveyor sealing, and loading conveyor belt sealing. Front track deflectors positioned in front of the drive motors offer additional protection from debris impact and build-up, improving service life.

The PM310, PM312, and PM313 cold planers are compact and maneuverable for use on a variety of job sites. Caterpillar

An adjustable on-screen guidance line feature has been added to the left-hand camera, giving operators the ability to track the cutting edge from either side of the machine. In addition, ground personnel can control the obstacle jump capability from the rear ground controls.

LED working and roading light options are available to improve safety and visibility during milling and transportation around the job site. An exhaust deflector option can be stowed when not in use, and when deployed redirects exhaust away from buildings and ground personnel. Optional dust abatement ducting has been redesigned to improve sealing and suction.
