Niftylift introduces company’s first straight boom platform and an upgrade on its 4x4 model

The two newest products from the manufacturer give customers an alternative for key industries and updated technology in one of the most popular size classes.

Niftylift introduced the new HR22 SE straight boom platform, and an update to the HR12 4x4 model at the Vertikal Days event in the United Kingdom this week. Both are available in North America, where the new straight boom unit will be called the SP65 SE.

The company says the development of a straight boom platform gives Niftylift customers a new option for fast and straightforward operation.

"Customers have been asking us for a simplified, lower cost, straight boom option that still features Niftylift's trademark engineering and manufacturing excellence. So we're delighted to introduce our HR22 SE. It's perfect for construction, and other industrial applications, and delivers great reach and control from an all-electric design that ensures lower noise and emissions on site. At Niftylift, we're focused on providing reliable and cost-effective equipment that gets the job done, and we're excited to see the first units get to work," said John Keely, managing director at Niftylift.

Expanded reach that works in congested spaces

The HR22 SE can cover a large working area with up to 21.7 metres (71 feet) of reach from a platform that extends up to 19.7 metres (65 feet) vertically, and with a horizontal outreach of 18.8 metres (62 feet). Tail swing is just 0.55 metres (22 inches) for operation in congested spots and vertical articulation of the basket is up to 150 degrees and equivalent horizontal movement of 170 degrees to access difficult-to-reach areas.

Smooth, quiet, electric operation

The unit's zero-emissions, electric drive is based on proven Niftylift technology and the low-noise pump further reduces disturbance. Power comes from a configuration of 8 x 400 amp hour batteries that deliver 48 volts, and up to five days of consecutive operations, with a 60 amp charger for re-powering. The driving experience is smooth thanks to a rear suspension system, and travel speeds can reach up to 5.5 kilometres per hour (3.4 miles per hour) with a turning radius of 7.7 metres (25 feet 4 inches).

The 11 centimetre (4.3 inch) information screens at the base and basket provide valuable information on the machine's status. The award-winning SiOPS technology prevents sustained involuntary operation, and Niftylink telematics is included for remote monitoring.

The basket on the new HR22 SE can accommodate up to 280 kilograms (620 pounds) of personnel and tools inside the 2.4 metre x 0.9 metre (7 feet 10 inches x 2 feet 11 inches) basket.

"We're excited to begin deliveries of the new HR22 SE. It's an addition that expands our offering and allows customers to provide a wider range of services from their Niftylift fleets," explains Keely.

Niftylift's new HR12 offering is an updated 4x4 model with increased reach

The second launch from Niftylift is an updated version of its HR12 4x4. With this new model, the company now has upgraded versions of the full complement of machines in this class, including the HR12LE (low weight), HR12N (narrow) and HR12NE (narrow, electric).

The modified boom on the latest HR12 4x4 delivers increased horizontal outreach of 6.4 metres (21 feet) while working height is set at 12.1 metres (39 feet 6 inches). The 4x4 performance means there's a powerful four-wheel drive system for uneven surfaces plus deep tread, rough terrain tires to provide extra grip on soft ground. Power comes from Niftylift's Gen2 Plug-In Hybrid design to enable operation from an efficient EU stage V-compliant engine or with zero-emissions via its electric-only power mode depending on customer needs and local work environment.

"The HR12 range is one of our best-loved and the updated HR12 4x4 means the full line-up now offers the latest Niftylift technology. Our unique parallel hybrid design gives owners a choice of how best to power the machine to suit the application, while technology such as SiOPS and Niftylink deliver added value," concluded Simon Maher, marketing manager at Niftylift.
