FAE’s remote controlled tracked carriers can now be equipped with an asphalt shredder attachment
The RPL/SSL-45 comes standard with advanced technological features, including self-levelling skids and tilt to ensure optimal results on uneven surfaces.
An asphalt shredder is the newest attachment designed for FAE's remote controlled tracked carrier line. The new attachment/machine combination expands FAE's range in the construction sector. With a special installation kit, the RCU75 can be equipped with an RPL/SSL-45 asphalt shredder allowing FAE to offer customers a new tool to prepare roads for resurfacing, or for excavation operations.
Optimal results on uneven surfaces and against walls
The RPL/SSL-45, when coupled with the RCU75, can mill up to seven inches deep and has a working width of 17 inches. The head comes standard with advanced technological features, including self-levelling skids and tilt to ensure optimal results on uneven surfaces.
Operational precision is ensured by the hydraulic drive system — which makes it possible to work right up against a wall on the right or left side — as well as practical depth and cutting indicators.
The water system with integrated tank allows for the elimination of dust from machining operations and contributes to cooling the teeth. It also has special teeth designed specifically for use on asphalt and concrete road surfaces.
Cold planer technology for performance and reduced vibration
FAE's road planers are based on "cold planer" technology. With cold planer technology, the road surface is scraped and cut by the impact of special teeth attached to the rotor. The RPL/SSL-45 has a specially designed tooth layout to increase performance and reduce vibration, making it especially appropriate for road resurfacing, or to simplify excavation operations.
