New 550-ton-per-hour sand and aggregate wash plant from CDE to open in Utah
Granite’s latest materials operation can ensure a consistent and reliable supply of sand and aggregates to the local construction market
On October 23rd, CDE and Granite hosted an open house preview of Granite's new 550-ton-per-hour sand and aggregate wash plant for the industry. CDE, a supplier of sand and aggregate washing products for the waste recycling and natural minerals processing sectors, commissioned the wash plant for Granite at the company's Coyote Pit in Grantsville, Utah.
Serving a rapidly expanding region
The Salt Lake City metropolitan area is expanding at a rapid rate and resources are in high demand, which is the backdrop to this important Grantsville development, says the company. Granite's latest materials operation is designed to ensure a consistent and reliable supply of sand and aggregates in the local market.
Granite materials manager Ric Skinner says, "Our goal is to efficiently produce the highest quality aggregates in our market to support our customers and their projects. It's exciting to be partnered with CDE to build a plant that does exactly that."
Supplying public and private infrastructure projects
Granite is one of the largest diversified construction and construction materials companies in the United States, and is a full-suite civil construction provider that delivers infrastructure products for public and private sector clients throughout the United States. Granite's operations include 35 aggregate and 59 asphalt plants across seven western states and one province, including Utah, Nevada, Arizona, Washington, Oregon, Alaska, California, and British Columbia, Canada.
"Projects of this scale require all parties to pull together, with meticulous planning, attention to detail, and commitment," says plant manager Stormy Watne. "We are very proud of our new wash plant and look forward to welcoming everyone to tour our operations."
