DEVELON and Leica collaborate on aftermarket 3D machine control solution for crawler excavators
The Leica MC1 3D machine guidance system is a retrofit designed to integrate with 2D sensors and calibrations of the DX225LC-7X
Leica Geosystems, part of Hexagon, and DEVELON have launched a new aftermarket 3D machine control solution for the DX225LC-7X 'smart' crawler excavator.
The DEVELON DX225LC-7X excavator features Full Electric Hydraulic (FEH) technology, an integrated 2D machine guidance, and a machine control system as standard equipment.
In order to enhance its efficiency to a greater extent, DEVELON is now offering the Leica MC1 3D machine guidance system as a retrofit, specifically engineered to integrate seamlessly with the 2D sensors and calibrations of the DX225LC-7X.
"We are excited to unite in a pioneering collaboration with Leica Geosystems, introducing a seamless experience to obtain a 3D machine guidance solution for our DX225LC-7X Smart excavator," said Stephane Dieu, excavators product manager of DEVELON in Europe. "This joint effort empowers construction companies to seamlessly blend efficiency and sustainability, setting a new standard for innovation."
The DEVELON excavator gets smarter with the Leica control system
The Leica MC1 machine control system is designed to assist the operator in precisely achieving the desired outcome. Design information and real-time cut/fill indicators are displayed in the cab of the Leica MCP80 control panel, allowing operators to excavate to the reference model efficiently. This solution ensures higher accuracy and operator satisfaction while increasing productivity and sustainability.
"We proudly present the Leica MC1 3D aftermarket solution, custom-tailored for the DEVELON DX225LC-7X excavator. Together, we open the doors to a future where construction industry leaders can embrace state-of-the-art technology, fostering sustainability and efficiency in their operations," said Neil Williams, president of the machine control division at Leica Geosystems.
