Vanair, a Lincoln Electric Company, will debut its groundbreaking Electrified Power Equipment (EPEQ) mobile support kit at the SEMA Show 2024. This mobile power solution will be on display at Booth #41219 in the South Hall from November 5th to 7th, offering attendees a first look at the future of mobile mechanical support for both automotive and commercial applications.

The EPEQ mobile support kit is a battery-powered, fully self-contained "bolt & go" system designed to transform any vehicle into a mobile support powerhouse. It combines Vanair's EPEQ mobile power technology with the growing demand for sustainable, efficient maintenance solutions for the automotive and commercial vehicle aftermarket.

"Our EPEQ mobile support kit is the first end-to-end electric solution to offer high-capacity air power, versatile inverter options, and EV emergency charging, all powered by our proprietary ELiMENT Battery packs," says Chip Jones, national manager of the  electrified product group for Vanair. "And with its 20 CFM of air power, up to 10kW of pure sine wave inverter capacity and a built-in Level 2 EV charger, all managed by our Smart Display System, this kit represents a complete mobile power solution in a compact package. It's designed for EV or internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles to provide clean, quiet power, and with no fumes generated and substantially reduced noise, it works great in enclosed spaces, such as vans and box trucks. This helps fleets reduce greenhouse emissions and fuel costs without sacrificing performance and worker safety."

Key features of the EPEQ Mobile Support Kit

  1. Powerful Vanair ELiMENT batteries: Two 48V, 100Ah lithium iron phosphate batteries with 5,000-charge cycle life, providing a robust foundation for sustained energy.
  2. High-capacity air compressor: EPEQ AIR20 compressor delivering 20 CFM at 150 PSI maximum, with dual-speed capability for efficient operation.
  3. Versatile power options: Includes a 3kW 120VAC inverter and two 5kW 240VAC inverters, offering pure sine wave energy for various electronic devices.
  4. Integrated EV charging: Built-in Level 2 EV charger with 9.6kW max output and a 25' charge cable, enabling on-the-go EV support.
  5. Smart display system: 7-inch Smart LED display with monitoring key metrics like state of charge, voltage levels and temperature.

The EPEQ mobile support kit is designed with mobility and efficiency in mind. Its compact enclosure measures 60-inches long by 24-inches wide by 30-inches high, making it suitable for installation in pickup trucks or vans without compromising valuable space. Despite its modest size, the entire package weighs just 550 pounds, packing substantial power in a transportable format designed to accommodate loading via forklift or small crane. The kit's plug-and-play design allows for easy installation and operation, with a 120VAC shore power charger that enables convenient recharging from standard outlets.

Safety and durability are key in the EPEQ Mobile Support Kit's design. Vanair's ELiMENT lithium iron phosphate batteries are safer than lithium-ion batteries, due to their stable chemistry and lower risk of thermal runaway. The ELiMENT batteries also feature a solid-state battery management system (BMS), and comprehensive protection against overcurrent, short-circuit, over-charge, over-discharge and temperature extremes.

The unit's smart display is IP67 rated, enhancing reliability in harsh environments. With its zero-emission operation and reduced noise output, the mobile support kit not only provides powerful performance but also contributes to a cleaner, quieter work environment, aligning with the growing demand for low-carbon mobile power solutions in various industries.

The EPEQ mobile support kit has already garnered attention from major fleet operators. One leading utility company has successfully implemented the technology in its fleet electrification efforts, using it as an emergency roadside charger (ERC) for the company's growing number of electric vehicles.

"We're seeing incredible interest from various industries," Jones asays. "From mobile tire services to emergency vehicle support, the EPEQ mobile support kit is revolutionizing how businesses approach mobile power and mobile maintenance."
