bauma 2025 highlights global innovation with over 150 new exhibitors
The construction trade fair gears up for cutting-edge technologies and a focus on sustainability and digitalization
Preparations for bauma 2025 have started, with exhibitors like Liebherr, Peri, and Wirtgen beginning to set up their booths as early as October — six months ahead of the event. The trade fair for construction machinery, building material machines, mining equipment, construction vehicles, and construction tools will take place in Munich from April 7 to 13, 2025.
New and returning exhibitors
Returning exhibitors include Volvo, Deutz, Liugong, CNH, Skyjack, and JLG. Joining for the first time are new players such as Fortescue, DSI/Sandvik, HG (specializing in 100 percent electric dumpers), EXiron AG, Gravis Robotics AG, Metso Oyj, rockrobot oy, Wabtec Corporation, and WEICO GmbH.
Around 150 new exhibitors are set to make their debut at bauma 2025, highlighting the event's growing global influence and appeal. Interest from international companies is also on the rise, with delegations from Argentina, Chile, Colombia, and Peru — countries traditionally strong in the mining sector — already expressing their enthusiasm for participation.
Nicole Schmitt, exhibition director of bauma, says: "We are very pleased with the overall positive feedback from the industry. We are now awaiting the registrations of the joint stand exhibitors until December. But I can already say that we are on the right track on the exhibitor side."
Key topic areas at bauma 2025
"Digitalization" and "sustainability" will remain the buzzwords of the industry next year. As a result, bauma will address five key topics: climate neutrality, alternative drive concepts, networked construction, sustainable construction, and the mining challenge.
From Monday to Friday, the bauma FORUM will focus on one of these key topics. The program will consist of brief presentations, panel discussions, and keynotes. Exhibitors will also present products and innovations from these areas.
New structure for the area of occupational health and safety in Hall B4
As part of changes for 2025, the area devoted to occupational health and safety will be consolidated in Hall B4. This strategic placement offers visitors a comprehensive overview of developments and technological advances that will improve safety on construction sites.
Science hub: focus on research
Eleven research institutions will present innovative projects at the bauma Science Hub. Among the highlights, the Technical University of Munich will present autonomous solutions for bulk goods transportation and a paving robot.
The University of Duisburg-Essen will demonstrate a cable robot for precise use on construction sites, and the Technical University of Dresden will present ways to avoid accidents by using a mobile excavator that can recognize human beings. Many other exciting projects await visitors directly at the exhibitors' booths.
Start-ups with innovations on all key topics
bauma 2025 will provide a platform for young, innovative companies to showcase their ideas and breakthroughs. Almost 50 start-ups have registered to showcase their innovations and developments related to the main themes.
These include mobile robot technologies, digital twin development for construction sites, alternative drive systems, and ultrasonic technology for concrete production. Other highlights include autonomous crane solutions for digital construction sites in challenging terrain and end-to-end software solutions designed to streamline operations both on-site and in the office.
Back at bauma: the VR experience
A highlight of bauma 2025 will be the VR Experience Zone, a collaboration between the Construction Future Lab (CFLab) and Messe München. This interactive exhibition will combine a museum-like atmosphere with cutting-edge technology, offering insights into key future trends in the construction industry.
Visitors can immerse themselves in demonstrations of construction robotics, alternative drive technologies, additive manufacturing processes, and the digitalization of machines and interfaces. The experience is further enriched by expert interviews and engaging multimedia content, providing a well-rounded perspective on industry innovations.
The experience will give visitors hands-on insights into transformative technologies, bringing future developments in construction to life in an accessible and practical way.
