Sage Oil Vac has launched a new service lube van segment for crews who need a compact solution for year-round preventive maintenance. A big benefit of these service vehicles is that they do not require a commercial drivers licence (CDL) to operate. The LV230 service lube van holds 60 gallons (227.13 litres) of fresh oil and 50 gallons (189.27 litres) of used oil, while the LV430 service lube van has the capacity for 90 gallons (340.68 litres) of fresh oil, 30 gallons (113.56 litres) of new coolant and 60 gallons (227.13 L) of used oil. Both were designed to navigate on tight job sites and in urban environments.

"We're consistently looking at what we can do to solve our customers' challenges on the job," says Aaron Sage, Sage Oil Vac CEO. "Our service lube van lineup is designed to give crews faster, safer, and cleaner oil changes while prioritizing a compact footprint that maximizes cost and fuel efficiency."

Lower upfront costs and no CDL required to operate

Labour shortages can mean tough competition for employees with CDLs, so vehicle options with lower gross vehicle weight ratings can widen the labour pool for companies looking for technicians, says Sage Oil Vac. Earlier this year, the company rolled out a non-CDL enclosed lube truck. The service lube van lineup is an extension of that effort, giving crews another option for a non-CDL maintenance vehicle. Sage Oil Vac service lube vans also offer a lower upfront investment and potential fuel savings, when compared to larger dedicated lube trucks.

Engineered for cold climate maintenance

Service lube vans are advantageous for maintenance technicians who work in colder climates. The enclosed van keeps fluids warm when temperatures fall, minimizing oil viscosity to ensure hassle-free transfer. The van also functions as a dry storage space for crews, allowing them to pack everything they need for each job. The LV230 service lube van includes 303 cubic feet (8.58 square metres) of storage, while the LV430 has 349 cubic feet (9.88 square metres). Both have Ranger Design shelving for a durable storage and organization solution. Technicians can access everything they need via the van's side door, simplifying the maintenance process, says the company.

"These service lube vans really are a versatile ready-to-use option for mobile maintenance. They come ready to work, just like the technicians using them," said Sage.

Sage Oil Vac service lube vans are built with pump-free technology to transfer maintenance fluids to and from equipment. This setup moves oil and other fluids faster than conventional pump-based systems, while the enclosed tank design prevents spills on the job. Each lube van also comes standard with two other Sage Oil Vac innovations: a Filter Stinger for cleaner filter removal from equipment and a leakproof Used Filter Receptacle to catch used oil that may drain from discarded filters.
