Ontario-based company DeSantis takes business to new heights with Liebherr crane purchase
The Liebherr LTM 1160-5.2 mobile crane closes a gap in the company’s business needs
DeSantis Crane Service Inc. is adding a Liebherr LTM 1160-5.2 mobile crane to its fleet. The Canadian crane service provider plans to use the 180-tonne crane primarily for lifting prefabricated concrete parts and air conditioning systems. The scope of delivery includes lattice extensions that enable the crane to reach a maximum lifting height of 92 metres.
"The new 180-tonne crane perfectly closes the gap between our LTM 1130-5.1 and our LTM 1300-6.2. In the future, it will mainly be used to lift prefabricated concrete parts and air conditioning systems and as a taxi crane," explains Mark Martino, owner of DeSantis.
New technology promises to cut costs for crane companies
With the LTM 1160-5.2, DeSantis has another efficient mobile crane in its fleet. Thanks to ECOmode and ECODrive technologies, fuel savings of up to ten percent can be achieved, a clear advantage for the environment and economy.
As well, the company purchased various boom configurations that enable flexible applications, while the VarioBallast system ensures maximum adaptability. Whether using the large ballast radius for high lifting capacities or fitting in constricted sites with a small radius, this crane is equipped for any challenge.
A top lifting machine for a busy business
In addition to the lifting capacity, the lifting height of the 180-tonne crane also impressed the crane service company. Alongside its 62-metre telescopic boom, DeSantis has also ordered three telescopic extensions, a hydraulic double folding jib, and the 2.9-metre-long assembly jib, ideal for the construction of wall elements.
In total, the LTM 1160-5.2 reaches a maximum lifting height of 92 metres. "We really like working with 5-axle machines because they are very versatile. The overall package of our new crane is perfect for us," adds Martino.
Other cranes in the company's arsenal
"All of our all-terrain cranes are from Liebherr, simply because we trust the brand and our customers also appreciate the reliability of the machines," explains Martino.
DeSantis currently has a total of 18 cranes in its fleet. The largest in the DeSantis fleet is an LTM 1400-7.1. The company also offers a wide range of mobile cranes from 25 to 165 tonnes. In business since 1997, the team has been performing the assembly and 2/3 disassembly of precast concrete walls, roofing, air conditioning systems, bridge girders, and tower cranes.
Martino shared that the company's fleet "is quickly ready for action and our service is available 24/7. We prioritize responsiveness, reliability, efficiency, and service; a strong team of owners, management, and employees is committed to this."
