Mack Trucks celebrates its 125th anniversary in 2025 by highlighting its accomplishments over the years. The company has helped shape some of America's biggest achievements in infrastructure, from hauling materials for the Hoover Dam, to collecting waste in cities nationwide with its zero- tailpipe-emission electric vehicles.

Mack Trucks was present at some of the most iconic construction sites around America, like carrying steel to the Brooklyn Bridge in 1909 and assisting with the creation of the Pan-American Highway. Through the Great Depression, two World Wars, and into the modern era, Mack has been there to help construct highways and infrastructure.

Innovation over 125 years

One of the earliest accomplishments for the company includes the concept of integrated powertrains, combining engines, transmissions, and axles into a unified system in the 1920s. Newer adaptations to the industry include the mDRIVE HD 13-speed for heavy-duty truck transmissions, along with new electric advancements for refuse trucks and medium-duty delivery vehicles.

"Each of these innovations represents more than just technological advancement," said Jonathan Randall, president of Mack Trucks North America. "They represent Mack's dedication to solving real-world challenges for our customers, while continuously pushing the boundaries of what's possible in trucking."

Expansion across the globe

Today, Mack trucks are now sold and serviced in more than 45 countries worldwide. The Lehigh Valley Operations (LVO) facility in Pennsylvania, where all Mack heavy-duty trucks are assembled, remains the heart of the operation. The Roanoke Valley Operations (RVO) facility in Virginia, producing medium-duty trucks, continues this tradition of manufacturing equipment in America.

Driving sustainable innovation

As Mack enters its next century and a quarter, the company is adding more machines to their lineup with sustainability in mind. The use of the LR Electric refuse trucks in major cities has shown that zero-tailpipe-emission vehicles can be used in any demanding application. In addition, the MD Electric series is transforming medium-duty applications from beverage delivery to local freight.

"Our 125th anniversary isn't just about celebrating our past - it's about driving toward an even more innovative future," Stephen Roy, president of Mack Trucks said. "The same spirit that inspired Jack and Gus Mack to build their first vehicle continues to drive us forward as we pioneer electric and autonomous technologies for the next generation of transportation."
