Xwatch updates its telematics-ready safety system for connected construction sites

Xwatch Safety Solutions, part of Hexagon, is launching the newest version of its control system for machine and operator safety, the MK2.

The new system incorporates simple enhancements and is easier to integrate into existing systems compared to its predecessor. With installation taking 30 percent less time, the new system is more adaptable and user-friendly, reducing downtime for plant hire companies and contractors.

The solution retains all the capabilities of MK1, including height and slew restriction, Rated Capacity Indicator, and the full suite of Xwatch safety features across the XW1, XW2, XW3, XW4, and XW5 models.

New enhancements include revolutionary proportional motion control when driving electric over hydraulic valve blocks, an efficient feature that assists in precision driving. Graphics have been completely reworked, creating a more visually friendly and intuitive monitor interface in various languages. MK2 is telematics-ready for connected construction sites and is compact to free up in-cab space.

The MK2 will be available to see at the Hexagon booth at bauma 2025 in Munich. Contractors can explore how to protect people and safeguard infrastructure on the job site. The Xwatch team will be on-site to help contractors get a feel of the machine with demonstrations of the next-generation technology. 

Paving the way for future compatibility

Due to Xwatch's long-term OEM machine integration strategy, the system is built to be compatible with various OEM displays, which minimizes the need for additional hardware in the cab and ensures seamless integration for manufacturers adopting the system.
