Bobcat launches its biggest machines yet with all-new large wheel loaders and excavators
The new wheel loaders and excavators are purpose-built to expand Bobcat's solutions across industries including construction, roadwork, agriculture, and more

Bobcat Company has expanded its lineup with all-new heavy construction equipment. Four large wheel loaders and two new large excavators represent the biggest machines that Bobcat has ever released, and all six models will be available at select North American Bobcat dealerships in mid-Q2 2025.
Bobcat's largest excavators
These new E220 and E245 large excavators from Bobcat deliver the precision needed for large job site challenges.
With fast cycle times, enhanced digging forces, and high lifting capabilities, the new conventional-tail-swing E220 and reduced-tail-swing E245 help operators confidently handle commercial and residential construction, roadwork, and infrastructure.
Bobcat large excavators have the size and weight combination for increased digging performance with the E220 offering a digging depth of 21 feet 7 inches, and the E245 offering 21 feet 11 inches. Both models have a bucket digging force of 35,464 lbf. The fine swing feature allows the excavators' upper structure to come to a gradual stop and reduce spillage.
Equipped with Tier 4 engines, these excavators meet emissions compliance without needing a diesel particulate filter.
The excavators offer four selectable power modes for operators to set their performance for the demands of the job:
- Power+ mode: Top work group speed to load trucks in less time or sustain peak digging performance when opening up hard ground
- Power mode: Impressive power and performance for tough digging, quick loading and heavy lifting, and increased travel speed
- Standard mode: Balanced performance and reduced fuel usage for routine digging, lifting, and grading
- Economy mode: Optimize fuel economy when power demands are lower or when doing precise digging and fine-grading.
The excavators' Smart Power Control will match load to engine RPM, hydraulic pump torque, and engine response.
Standard key features of the excavators include:
- Steel tracks
- Four standard work modes: One-way flow, two-way flow, digging, and lifting
- 8-Inch touch display with Bluetooth
- Side- and rear-view camera
- Standard premium air-suspension, heated seat
- LED work lights
The large excavators also come standard with 2-way piping controlled by a thumb wheel or foot pedal along with stand hydraulic quick coupler piping. Several attachments will be available.
Bobcat's largest wheel loaders
New to the Bobcat lineup are the L205, L235, L255, and L285 large wheel loaders. These loaders are purpose-built for big load-and-carry tasks, offering a new solution for construction, agriculture, and manufacturing.
Built for high-production lifting, the large wheel loaders' bucket capacity varies by model: 2.5 cubic yards for the L205, 3 cubic yards for the L235, and 3.5 cubic yards for the L255 and L285.
The L235, L255, and L285 come standard with three transmission modes so operators can customize their performance for unique working conditions with the following modes:
- Manual: Provides precise speed control
- Auto 1-4: Automatically shifts up or down depending on the power and torque required for the task
- Auto 2-4: Offers performance and flexibility for lighter-duty tasks with manual kick down that automatically shifts between gears 2 through 4
Bobcat shares that all four new large wheel loaders feature three power modes to allow operators to choose between maximizing performance with power mode, handling daily tasks with normal mode, or minimizing fuel consumption with economy mode.
All models are powered by a turbocharged Tier 4 engine, offering even performance at all elevations.
Standard key features of the wheel loaders include:
- 8-inch touchscreen display
- Joystick controls
- Rear-view camera
- Fully adjustable air suspension seat
- Telescopic and tilt steering
- Automatic heat and air conditioning with adjustable air vents
- Front and rear LED work lights
- Hands-free Bluetooth device connectivity
Bobcat large wheel loaders offer versatile attachment options to suit a wide range of tasks. Contractors can choose to order the loaders with pin-on attachments or choose from two popular quick coupler choices.
Bobcat warranty on the new machines
All six new models — E220, E245, L205, L235, L255, L285 — and the current E145 and E165 are backed by a 3-year or 5,000-hour full coverage warranty.
"As a leader in the compact equipment industry, we are always looking to best serve our customers with product enhancements and new solutions to help them accomplish more," said Brad Claus, Bobcat vice president of construction equipment. "Offering complementary products, such as these heavy construction products, with even greater power and performance capabilities gives current and future Bobcat customers more options to address their toughest job sites."
