WABCO Forms Reman Solutions
Targets new revenues in high quality, environmentally friendly remanufactured components
WABCO Holdings Inc., a global technology leader and tier-one supplier to the commercial vehicle industry, today announced that it has established WABCO Reman Solutions. This operating unit will specialize in remanufacturing electronic and mechatronic components as well as traditional mechanical products for commercial vehicles and passenger cars. WABCO is targeting new revenues in the rapidly growing market for high quality, environmentally friendly remanufactured components.
WABCO Reman Solutions will initially serve original equipment manufacturers and tier-one suppliers of commercial, passenger and agricultural vehicles in Europe and North America while expanding into Asia in due course. Customers continue increasingly to seek cost-effective remanufactured components while also achieving benefits for the environment. WABCO Reman Solutions will remanufacture WABCO components as well as fully connect with original equipment producers to remanufacture their components, further extending WABCO’s market reach.
“WABCO Reman Solutions represents an opportunity for significant growth as we will now participate in a $20 billion market which is expected to increase substantially in the coming years,” said Jacques Esculier, WABCO Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “Legislation around the world continues to drive higher standards for cleaner, greener vehicles, and at the same time, new commercial vehicles continue to increase their electronic and mechatronic applications as technologies for safety and control systems further advance.”
Operating as part of WABCO’s aftermarket organization, WABCO Reman Solutions has established remanufacturing facilities in Stanowice, Poland, and Rochester Hills, Michigan, U.S.A. Both factory sites are expected to be operational in September 2010.
WABCO has engaged Joe Kripli as enterprise leader of WABCO Reman Solutions and Mike Dojcinovski as operations leader. Mr Kripli has 30 years of remanufacturing experience including senior management positions. He is also president-elect of the Automotive Parts Remanufacturers Association, a leading industry group based in Virginia, U.S.A. Mr Dojcinovski has eight years of remanufacturing experience including senior management roles.
“WABCO Reman Solutions is powered by highly experienced leadership comprising senior managers with deep understanding of the remanufacturing business. Our reman team strongly combines with WABCO’s industry-leading capabilities as a global manufacturer of complex vehicle control systems,” said Nick Rens, WABCO Vice President, Aftermarket and Trailer Systems. “We have an outstanding initial response from major customers as they value innovation and quality to support them in their evolving remanufacturing strategies.”
