ENERGY HARVESTER
Perpetuum launches the intrinsically safe ATEX version of the industrial PMG17 vibration energy harvester for safe working in Zone 0, 1 or 2 environments. The microgenerator that enables wireless, battery-free sensing for condition monitoring and asset management applications has been given an ATEX EC-Type Examination Certificate and an IECEx Draft Certificate of Conformity. These certificates, when combined with pending QA certifications, will allow Per-petuum to supply the PMG17 to its customers with Ex ia IIC T4 markings.
The new intrinsically safe PMG17 energy harvester has been designed and certified for use in hazardous oil, gas, chemical and petrochemical environments where flammable gases may be present. Perpetuum’s customers are now free to incorporate energy harvesting technology (and hence remove batteries) into wireless sensor nodes for use in these hazardous areas for the first time.
