The walk-beside, centre-articulated PTX40 plow/trencher is designed for installing fiber-optic, electrical, gas and irrigation services and meets the needs of underground utility contractors, municipalities and landscaping professionals.
Powered by a 46.8 hp (34.9 kW) Kubota liquid-cooled gasoline engine, the PTX40 provides maneuverability, increased traction and power over its predecessor, the LM42, for plowing and trenching applications.
Features & Benefits
MACHINE VERSATILITY
Utilized for irrigation and utility installations, the versatile PTX40 is a plow/trencher with a dedicated plow depth of up to 24 inches (61 cm), a trench depth of up to 42 inches (106.7 cm) and a width of 4–6 inches (10.2–15.2 cm).
ARTICULATED DESIGN
An articulated design offers enhanced maneuverability in tight spaces and exceptional performance when operating on uneven terrain, maximizing tractive effort.
REMOTE CONTROL
When plowing or in transport mode, remote control operation offers flexibility in congested areas, providing the operator both fingertip control and smooth machine handling.
SERVICEABILITY
Access to required service points, as well as fuel, hydraulic oil, engine oil and air filters, does not require removal of any shielding, which can increase efficiency of machine service and simplify daily maintenance.
TRACTION OPTIONS
The 23-inch (58.4 cm) tires accommodate narrow width, the 26-inch (66 cm) tires provide better traction, and the dual tire option is best for lower ground pressure.
COMPACT SIZE
At 40.2 inches (102.1 cm) wide and only 55 inches (139.7 cm) high, the PTX40 is small enough to navigate smaller jobsites where larger machines can’t fit.
