Webasto's exclusive thermal storage technology in the off-highway market provides engine-off operator comfort by maintaining cabin temperatures during down time. Inside the storage core is series of aluminum micro-channels, which route liquid refrigerant around a graphite honeycomb substrate that is impregnated with water. This substrate is capable of storing cold energy at an extremely high efficiency. Cold energy is transferred to the cab for on-demand engine-off cooling which results in operator comfort, fuel savings, reduced idle time and increased productivity.
