Free-standing or gutter-connected truss and arch houses are only part of the glass house offerings from Jonkman. The company, which specializes in complete greenhouse packages, offers clear truss spans from 18 to 51 feet, with curved glass designs available from 18 to 32 feet. Clear heights range from eight to more than 20 feet.
Structures are made from hot-dip galvanized steel, with aluminum glazing systems. Arches, gutters and purlins are also made from pre-galvanized steel. Both the truss and arch houses are available in tempered glass, or can be clad with structured acrylic, polycarbonate sheets or double poly. Designs can be natural or fan-ventilated, or a combination of both. Naturally ventilated designs include dual continuous ridge vents, side vents or gable vents. Poly arch houses are available in ridge vent or gutter vent designs, as well as side vents. Fan ventilation by gable fans or sidewall mounted exhaust fans can be combined with cooling pads. Hot water heating is available, using plain pipework, finned pipe or unit heaters. Steam systems are available, as are hot air unit heaters. Radiant heating and in-slab floor heating may also be considered.
