Wacker Neuson has expanded its extensive compaction product line with new 5-ton and 7-ton single drum soil compaction rollers. The RC50 and RC70 offer powerful compaction performance, with excellent maneuverability, gradeability and stability, especially on rough terrain. Both models feature the choice of a smooth drum for compaction of granular materials or a padfoot drum for effective compaction of cohesive soils such as clay. The RC models are ideal for commercial and residential projects, secondary roadways, bike paths and parking lots.
These high-performance rollers feature a three-point articulated pendulum joint that provides even weight distribution and consistent compaction even while navigating curves or maneuvering along uneven ground. To expand on maneuverability, these machines are built to climb with the powerful drive system that allows compaction on slopes up to a 60 percent grade. The rear wheels are driven by independent motors resulting in excellent ground clearance and traction in a variety of conditions, enhancing productivity as well as safety.
Wacker Neuson’s new RC50 and RC70 feature a compact design that provides an excellent view of the work area and drum from the operator’s seat. The spacious operator’s platform provides plenty of legroom and is isolated from vibration for comfortable operation. These machines are simple to operate using the intuitively designed display and joystick control.
The 5-ton class, RC50 comes with a 54-inch drum width and compacts with 15,512 pounds of centrifugal force at a rate of 1800 vibrations per minute. The 7-ton, RC70 offers a 66-inch drum and compacts with 28,100 pounds of centrifugal force. Both models are powered by a 73.2 Kubota engine and have a 32 gallon fuel tank. All models sold in North America come in choice of canopy or cab.
