Metso introduces high-performance cone crusher, horizontal screen, and updated wear parts at World of Asphalt/AGG1
Metso brought a collection of new products to share with the North American market at AGG1, including a new cone crusher, horizontal screen, and new wear parts.
The Nordberg HP350e cone crusher is the newest in a series introduced in 2023, and is engineered to meet aggregate and mining industry needs. It features enhanced performance, increased uptime, easier and safer maintenance, and a series of other improvements that benefit a range of rock processing operations.
Performance is improved up to 10 percent in secondary and tertiary application thanks to enhanced kinematics and more efficient chambers, Metso states. It has no backing liners for quick, easier, and safer liner changes, and a head anti-spin brake extends liner wear life. Optional ring bounce monitoring provides active overload protection, and a new feed cone lifting tool makes for safe lifting and handling.
Three alternative kinematics are available to choose from, as are alternative speeds. Ten innovative application-specific no-backing chamber designs can be selected depending on need for secondary, tertiary, and quaternary stages.
Most parts are common between the earlier HP300 and new HP350e designs, and the rest are either interchangeable or upgradable. Current HP300 owners can buy HPe upgrade kits allowing for economical access to some new features.
Nordberg HPe series crushers will be available as Nordplant pre-designed crushing modules, which provide convenient all-in-one delivery with quick assembly for replacing crushing stations or in new quarries. In addition, the first HPe crusher on tracks is being introduced - the Lokotrack LT200HPX, which features a Nordberg HP200e cone crusher and two-deck pre-screen.
Horizontal triple shaft screen offers accuracy and efficiency
The TSE series triple shaft screen is a high-performance horizontal screen for a range of wet or dry applications in coarse or fine screening. The screens are designed for accuracy, efficiency, and a compact structure.
A robust design handles stresses generated by the high-performance mechanism that produces the high-G elliptical motion. Rigidity in the design is provided by frames made from standard sections with K-bracing, and with side plates that are huck bolted without welding. This produces a reliable screen design with less natural frequencies and a much larger operating window. The high-performance mechanism offers flexibility to operate in a large range of applications due to the ease of gear and counterweight adjustments. Elliptical motion is combined with high acceleration for more performance in terms of throughput and screening efficiency.
Wear part update improves customers' crusher economy
New Metso wear parts are designed to improve uptime and crushing performance. LongLife liners for Nordberg HP Series cone crushers last from 35 to 50 percent longer in all typical aggregate applications. LongLife wears combine all Metso's greatest concepts learned from 20-plus years of chamber optimization programs.
The key feature is a carefully considered thickness increase, while maintaining the flexibility that allows these units to be used across most applications. They reduce the need for liner change-outs significantly, reducing costs while improving uptime and customer revenue.
Metso MX hybrid composite wear parts are available for certain HP Series cone crusher models to minimize cost per ton in the secondary crushing stage. This technology can provide up to double the wear life, and is suited for hard and abrasive feed materials.
Coarse Corrugated jaw dies featuring XT715 alloy are available for Nordberg C Series jaw crushers. XT715 is a high-manganese alloy that, combined with a redesigned jaw profile, contributes to up to 50 percent higher wear life while improving capacity and product shape.
O-Series crusher wears are suitable for soft to medium abrasive aggregate applications. The Endurance line of products has clear targets for feed material characteristics and customer segments.
Metso also offers the X-Series crusher wear parts portfolio for third-party crushers. These are based on Metso's XX alloy, and are suitable for soft to abrasive aggregate applications. Wear parts that can work across a range of brands means customers can consolidate their maintenance needs.
