CM Labs Simulations recently participated in the inaugural Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) Hill Day in Ottawa. Hill Day provided a platform for industry executives to engage directly with senators, members of parliament, and senior government officials. These discussions highlighted critical topics, including safety and workforce development.

"Events like Hill Day are vital for collaboration between policymakers and industry leaders on key issues," says Lisa Barbieri, vice president of marketing and strategic partnerships at CM Labs. "These dialogues can help bring policy changes that better protect apprentices, and everyone on the worksite, as they learn to become operators."

CM Labs provides simulation training technology for heavy equipment operators. The company says it was proud to join these conversations, and have the opportunity to emphasize the essential role that simulation has in improving safety while building a skilled and prepared workforce.

Using a heavy equipment training simulator during initial training is a proven way to enhance operator safety—both during and after training. Simulation technology is also transforming how companies approach heavy equipment operator training, offering a more efficient and effective solution to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving industry.

Hill Day underscores the importance of maintaining an open and constructive exchange to achieve shared goals, says the AEM. As CM Labs continues to innovate in simulation training technology, the company says it remains committed to improving the safety of Canadians, and all operators, who work with heavy equipment.
