bauma Innovation Award 2025 nominees
The award recognizes advancements in climate protection, digitalization, mechanical engineering, building, and research
This is the 14th time that Messe München and VDMA, together with the construction industry associations HDB, ZDB and bbs, will award the bauma Innovation Award. The competition started on May 2, 2024, with the categories of Climate Protection, Digitalization, Mechanical Engineering, Building, and Research.
Votes were cast by visitors at the Media Dialogue event in mid-February in Munich. All nominees will be presented at the ICM in Munich before the opening of bauma on April 6, and the five innovations with the highest number of votes will receive the award.
The jury evaluates the entries according to criteria that are crucial for the future of the industry. Key factors include the practical relevance of a solution and its economic potential. In addition, the judges consider the progress of digitalization, environmental aspects, sustainability, resource efficiency, and the humanization of the workplace.

History of the bauma Innovation Award
The international bauma Innovation Award has its roots in the German Construction Equipment Day, which until 2004 honoured cutting-edge technologies from Germany. Since 2007, it has been awarded every three years and is organized jointly by VDMA, VDMA Services GmbH, bauma, and the German construction industry's central associations, HDB, ZDB, and bbs.
Past winners include Liebherr with its hydrogen-powered excavator in the Climate Protection category; MiC 4.0 with one common digital language for construction sites in the Digitalization category; and Holcim for its carbon pre-stressed concrete in the construction category.
