The Rental Show is the American Rental Association's annual convention and trade show for the equipment rental industry. It features construction/industrial equipment, general tool/light construction equipment and party/special event equipment. The Rental Show 2018 will be held in New Orleans, Louisiana, from February 19 to 21. Check back with Heavy Equipment Guide throughout the week leading up to the show for continuing coverage. The following is a selection of what exhibitors will be highlighting at The Rental Show.

John Deere will be displaying the 325G compact track loader at The Rental Show. Developed from customer feedback, Deere says that this compact track loader offers low daily operating costs, peak productivity and maximum uptime.
"The mid-frame G-series models are packed with the productivity and technologies of our large-frame models, but in a more compact package and at a lower price point," said Gregg Zupancic, product marketing manager, skid steers and compact track loaders, John Deere Construction & Forestry. "Inspired by extensive feedback from a diverse range of customers in our Customer Advocacy Group, these machines are affordable, easy to operate, easily transported and offer unparalleled versatility with a multitude of attachment options."
This CTL offers 74 hp to deliver increased performance and higher pushing power. Rated operating capacity is 2,590 pounds (1,176 kg), and it is capable of loading a 10-foot (3-m) sidewall dump truck or hopper. The height to hinge pin is 10 feet 6 inches (3.20 m) in vertical lift orientation, and operating weight is 9,500 pounds (1,176 kg).
Pettibone will exhibit the T944X, its next generation Traverse telehandler.
Pettibone says that the Traverse is the only telescopic handler currently on the market with an extendable, traversing boom that moves loads by travelling horizontally. This capability allows users to precisely and safely place loads forward through windows or other tight openings without having to reposition the machine.
With the Traverse, the specified lift height is the landing height. This stands in contrast to a traditional fixed boom pivot, where the true landing height is generally several feet less than advertised, as operators must account for withdrawing the forks out of the load with enough rearward travel for the fork tips to clear the landing zone.
Jenny Products offers four wheeled-portable air compressor models featuring single-stage "C" pumps and 6.5-hp Honda GX commercial engines. The C-series compressors deliver 9.8 cfm at 125 psi, and are available with 8-, 15-, 17- and 30-gallon air tanks, which are powder coated and ASME certified.
For maximum durability, the newly engineered "C" pumps are constructed of cast iron and are splash lubricated with Jenny "Ultimate Blue" synthetic compressor-pump oil. The pumps are belt-driven with large flywheels for easy startups and extra cooling. Directional air shrouds further reduce pump temperatures. Special unloading valves are also included to assist in engine starting.
"We developed the ‘C' pump to take full advantage of the Honda 6.5-hp engine," said Daniel Leiss, president of Jenny Products. "The compressors fill the gap between our 5.5- and 9-hp models."
Other standard features include a totally enclosed heavy-duty belt guard, anti-vibration feet for smoother operation, a large canister intake filter with replaceable elements, manual tank drains, a stainless-steel braided discharge hose, a pressure-release safety valve and tank, regulator and outlet pressure gauges. The compressors have pneumatic tires and convenient lifting handles. Options include an oil-sight glass, lubricator and air line filter.
The Honda Engines team will show the Cyclone Air Cleaner, available on the Honda GX160, GX200, GX270 and GX390 engine models, which features a smaller footprint and a more compact design than the legacy cleaner it replaced. The Cyclone Air Cleaner fits within the overall engine shape and targets OEM applications where engine dimensions are critical. It also offers the same superior filtration efficiency with a triple-cleaning chamber that is particularly useful in commercial applications where power equipment operates in extremely dusty conditions.
Also on display will be the Honda GXR120 general purpose engine, a model uniquely developed as an ideal source of power for rammers. Offered as a second power option to the GX100 engine, the GXR120 engine is designed to provide superb durability and reliability for heavy-duty applications. With a displacement of 121 cc, the engine can appropriately power 110- to 175-pound rammers at multiple altitudes with ease.
The Honda GX Series of V-Twin engines is another show highlight. V-Twin models, including the GX630, GXV630, GX690 and GXV690 (available in both horizontal and vertical shaft configurations), are designed for demanding, power-hungry rental and commercial applications including construction and concrete equipment.
At The Rental Show the Honda Power Equipment team will focus on the Honda comprehensive line of generators – models providing smooth, dependable power for rental, construction, emergency and recreation applications. All Honda generators are powered by advanced Honda four-stroke engines and incorporate technology that make Honda generators among the world's quietest.
The company's newest introduction is the all-new Honda EU2200i Super Quiet Series of generators that deliver 10 percent more power (200 watts) than the outgoing EU2000i. The all-new generator lineup includes the EU2200i; the EU2200i Camo; the EU2200i Companion; and the EB2200i (designed for the industrial user, meeting LA-ETL and OSHA requirements). These models incorporate the tried and true inverter technology that Honda developed as well as thoughtful design modifications. The Honda EU2200i generators provide even better performance, combined with improved ease of use and maintenance for powering work, home or play.
Also on display will be Honda Power Equipment's comprehensive line of water pumps. The product line consists of rugged, easy-to-use models in four different categories – the gasoline-powered de-watering, trash, multi-purpose and electric submersible series.
